The Santa Marta estate of Compañía de Tierras Sud Argentino has obtained certification from the Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS). This achievement positions it among the leading producers of sustainable soy in Argentina.

The certification is granted by a non-profit international organization that recognizes the estate’s commitment to responsible soy production and its dedication to environmental and social sustainability.

RTRS certification is a globally recognized standard that promotes the production, trade, and use of responsible soy. It involves meeting stringent criteria that cover the protection of high conservation value areas, respect for workers’ rights and local communities, and the implementation of good agricultural practices.

“This distinction, which signifies transparency and responsible agricultural practices, demonstrates our ongoing effort to achieve the best quality standards and be responsible towards the environment,” said Agustín Dranovsky, CEO of Compañía de Tierras Sud Argentino.

The certification process at the Santa Marta estate required a thorough five-year adaptation process, culminating in an external audit. The evaluation covered the entire operations of the estate, which spans 16,000 hectares, of which 2,200 hectares are dedicated to soy cultivation.

In this regard, Ignacio Anchorena, manager of the Santa Marta Unit, adds: “Over the years, we have succeeded in implementing a work culture focused on production, community development, and environmental care. This is also a local achievement and the result of the entire team working at the estate.”

Obtaining the RTRS certification “is a testament to our commitment to a more sustainable and competitive future,” highlights Anchorena.
