CAT Sorriso is sponsoring the RTRS International Conference 2024 for the first time
CAT Sorriso is a Gold sponsor of the RTRS International Conference 2024, “Towards a Regenerative Transition,” which will take place on November 19 and 20 in Belgium. As a member of RTRS since 2015 and a promoter of sustainable soybean production certification, CAT Sorriso supports this event to raise awareness and share its activities and initiatives with participants.
“We promote the visibility of regional agricultural products through traceability and the quality of cultivated foods, advocating for the integration of agricultural production and environmental conservation, while highlighting the importance of sustainable practices and the use of innovative technologies. Additionally, more than 200 families in family farming are already reaping the benefits of our support and knowledge network,” states Maria Cristina Delicato, General Coordinator of CAT Sorriso and a member of the RTRS Steering Committee.
Main projects of CAT Sorriso:
- Cultivating Sustainable Life Project: A commitment seal for the future, working in large-scale soybean and corn properties and family farming, generating millions of tons across 45 properties.
- Águas do Lira Project: Focused on conservation, revitalizing urban and rural springs, and maintaining a nursery of native seedlings using innovative reforestation techniques.
- Agro in School Project: Promotes environmental education, reaching over 150,000 children through educational materials.
About CAT Sorriso
The Friends of the Earth Club – CAT Sorriso is a non-profit organization located in the Central region of Brazil, in the heart of Mato Grosso. Founded in 2002 by rural producers, its goal is to harmonize the progress of agribusiness with environmental conservation.
Its actions span from large-scale production to family farming, promoting the empowerment of women in agriculture and environmental education for children.
