Field Trip to Ghent, Belgium

Optional activity following the RTRS International Conference

Within the framework of the RTRS 2024 International Conference and in partnership with the Belgian Feed Association (BFA), RTRS has organized a field trip on November 21 to explore key facilities in Ghent and Waregem:

  • Leievoeders: A leading feed producer for pigs, poultry, and cattle in Waregem.
  • Eurosilo: Located at the Port of Ghent, Eurosilo is a top facility for the handling, distribution, and storage of grains, oilseeds, and derivatives across Europe.
  • Alco Bio Fuel (ABF): Belgium’s major biorefinery, specializing in grain processing.

The aim of this activity is to deepen our understanding of soybean processing, handle, distribute and storage grains, oilseeds, and their derivatives, while gaining insights into the specific needs of the European market.
