Optimizing data collection in the Online Platform
With the aim of continuing to innovate and offer more efficient solutions, RTRS presents version 7.4 of its Online Platform, which includes a new digital reporting module as well as new information fields in the Marketplace. This update optimises the audit process, making it more agile, practical, and transparent, and will come into effect on 3 February 2025.
Until now, production audit reports were uploaded in PDF format by Certification Bodies—accredited by national and international Accreditation Bodies recognised by RTRS for certification—which made their analysis more difficult, as report formats varied between Bodies, and data collection was carried out manually, increasing both time requirements and the margin for error.
With the new version of the Platform, audit forms will have a standardised design based on a predefined template and will be automatically integrated with the RTRS website, where audit reports of certified producers can be downloaded. Additionally, all Certification Bodies will use the same reporting model, ensuring greater consistency and quality of information.
“At RTRS, we firmly believe in continuous improvement. With this new update, we aim to facilitate the analysis and generation of relevant data, allowing our stakeholders to make more informed decisions,” says Ana Laura Andreani, RTRS Technical Unit Manager and project lead. “At the same time, the new reporting method not only optimises the efficiency of the Platform but also reinforces transparency and credibility throughout the certification process,” she adds.
Benefits of this innovation
- Digital systematisation of information: All audit and producer data will be recorded digitally, facilitating analysis and enabling the generation of precise metrics.
- Implementation of a new reporting system: In the new version of the platform, reports will include more detailed information on producers, as well as records of the origin of certified tonnes. This allows for more effective reporting of producer information.
- Greater traceability: Thanks to the inclusion of precise information on the origin of certified material, it is possible to track products back to the farm, providing more data for the supply chain.
This new innovation aligns with RTRS’s efforts to develop technological solutions that provide its members and stakeholders with robust and reliable tools, facilitating compliance with their sustainability commitments and promoting responsible soy production.
