New RTRS Latin American Members

RTRS welcomes two new Latin American Participating Members, Varteco Química Puntana S.A., from Argentina, and CHS Agronegócio – Indústria e Comércio Ltda, from Brazil, that joined the Association in the second semester of this year. Currently, RTRS has 40 member organizations from South America, namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Varteco is one of the leading global manufacturers of Epoxidized Soybean Oil, a sustainable product used mainly as an additive and plasticizer for PVC to replace petrochemical additives.

For the company, sustainability is key to their business;therefore, it joins RTRS to be part of this global multisectoral dialogue platform and to support responsible soy production. The organization also expresses its growing interest in certifying the traceability of its soybean oil -based products by implementing RTRS Chain of Custody scheme.

On its part, CHS, present in South America since 2003, provides services for the farming sector such as grain, oil seed and fertilizer storage, trade and distribution.

Being an RTRS member is consistent with the Company´s mission: “promote agribusiness with sustainable solutions, taking care of the needs of current and future generations, and making business only with partners and producers that strictly comply with environmental regulations and protocols.” CHS. also seeks to participate in the global and multisectoral dialogue promoted by RTRS to contribute to initiatives for zero deforestation in soybean production.
RTRS celebrates the involvement of organizations committed to collaborative work that promotes sustainable supply chains and to participating in the global dialogue on the economic, social and environmental impacts of soy.
