New RTRS Credit Validity Dates for Producers
Credits for RTRS certified producers will be valid for five years from the date they have been reported.
In the last RTRS Executive Committee meeting in October, the extension of RTRS credit validity period for producers was approved.
The RTRS Executive Board resolved the following:
- the validity of the credits issued after December 31st 2015, will be extended to 5 years from the moment the production is included/registered in the RTRS Trading Platform.
- the credits issued before January 1st, 2016 will expire on December 31st, 2020
In order to ensure that the multiple and diverse stakeholders in RTRS are represented in key decision-making processes, it is important to note that the Executive Committee agreed to revise this resolution every year.
This new resolution follows the one approved in 2016, which established a validity period for organizations buying RTRS credits of two (2) calendar years from the date of the purchase from the producer.
