Public consultation on the RTRS Monitoring Evaluation and Learning opens
RTRS announces the opening of the public consultation for the revised version of its “RTRS Monitoring Evaluation and Learning System“ which outlines the intended impacts and outcomes of our Theory of Change (ToC) and the unintended effects of RTRS, as well as the scope and boundaries of the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system. The purpose of the MEL system is to understand more about the effectiveness of RTRS’s impact, as well as to improve its processes and performance.
The main objective of this consultation is to gather contributions and feedback from all stakeholders in the soy value chain, both RTRS members and non-members, to actively guide the ongoing update and improvement of the MEL system of the Association.
Throughout the year 2023, RTRS worked on the revision of its ToC to create a document that identifies and defines the Association as a whole, provides information on the impact it seeks to achieve, and describes the strategies it implements to make this happen. It is a diagram that traces the causal links, or pathways, from the actions and activities carried out by RTRS to the change it seeks to drive.

RTRS is also keen to understand from its stakeholders more about their views on the unintended effects of RTRS both positive and negative, (including the most significant and potentially damaging negative unintended consequences), as well as the scope and boundaries of the MEL system.
The public consultation will remain open for 45 days, with the closing date on January 26th. RTRS, along with a team of consultants experienced in the subject, will carefully consider and evaluate each received comment. Based on this exchange, an updated version of the RTRS ToC and MEL system will be developed.
We invite all interested parties to participate in this public consultation by completing the following form
