RTRS launches its first Task Force in Uruguay and carries out one in Brazil

These multistakeholder meetings will provide a space for both members and non-members of RTRS to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate to promote sustainable supply chains in their respective countries.

The Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS), announces the realization of the first Task Force in Uruguay in April 10th in Montevideo, and the continuity of the Task Force in Brazil in April 18th in São Paulo.

Both meetings will offer a multisectoral space where industries, farmers, banks, NGOs and other stakeholders of the soy chain can connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate to foster sustainable supply chains. In Brazil, the Task Force has already established itself.

Producers of soy and corn, manufacturers of food for human and animal consumption, members of the food industry, supermarkets, financial institutions, civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders in the soy value chain will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss RTRS’s global and local projects and initiatives.

The agenda for both Task Forces includes updates on the evolution of RTRS certification and the adoption of certified material worldwide, covering developments in Uruguay and Brazil.

In Brazil, new incentive mechanisms for rural producers in RTRS certification will be introduced, along with a discussion of the 2024 work agenda and other sustainability-related issues in the soy chain.

Especially in Uruguay, the development of the Interpretation of the RTRS Standard for Responsible Soy Production V.4.0 will take place, adapted to the reality and legislation of that country.

Both events promise to be significant spaces for dialogue and collaborative work.
